Have you ever considered the truth that everytime you open your Bible and read or listen to the Word of God, you're face to face with the Author, the almighty God? Wow! He invites us, ordinary people, to experience Him in extraordinary ways. I love reading the Bible and being encouraged by the many ways God has historically loved, supported, and strengthed people that have been discounted by society, disappointed by friends and loved ones, denied by those in power.
Christ's invitation to a relationship extends beyond the time we spend reading His Word. He writes the words that we read or listen to from the Bible within our hearts. He uses that information to remind us of His truth and increase our faith during times we lack the ability to believe.
In 2 Timothy 3:16, the apostle Paul reminds us that, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God". That means that yes, the words of the Bible are coming directly from God. It also means that when we have scriptures come to our minds, it isn't an accident or random occurence. Have you ever had that happen - when you are at work, or driving, or just going about your day and a verse comes to your mind from no where? It is an event inspired by God reminding us of His invitation to know Him. What a privilege that the Creator and Maker of heaven and earth is thoughtful of ordinary folks like each of us. He goes to such great lengths to let us know how important and valued we are by Him.
